FAQs

What qualifications / experience do you have?

Christian is a certified UESCA Ultra Running Coach, qualified UK Athletics running coach (CiRF), run leader (LiRF), and experienced trail and mountain runner who’s completed multiple trail and ultra marathons over varying distances (30, 50, 100, 200+ miles). Christian is also a trained Mountain Leader and qualified in Outdoor First Aid.

If I pay monthly, am I entering a contract?

No, it’s just a normal monthly subscription. There’s no joining fee or binding contract and all we ask is runners give one month’s notice if/when they wish to cancel.

Is there a minimum term?

Yes, we ask runners to commit to at least three months of coaching. Making the progress you want will take time and this initial commitment helps ensure our work together is worthwhile.

Do I have to be entered into a race to be coached?

Not at all. Our experience is that runners want to be coached for a variety of reasons. This might well be for specific races they’re eyeing up, or it can be to get fitter, stronger and healthier.

Whatever the reason, being coached can help mix up your training with good, clear guidance. You’ll learn how to train better and there’s that all important accountability from me which helps keep you sharp and on-track.

How do I get my training plan?

We use Training Peaks, a popular training platform. It’s easy to use. The app gives you instant access to your calendar, activities and all the data you can imagine.

My life’s pretty busy, so how bespoke are your training plans?

We’ll talk about your lifestyle in detail in our initial meeting. From there, we’ll build a programme that works for you, based on the time and terrain available to you. We can tailor plans to shift-working patterns as well as any additional needs.

I’m a fairly decent runner, so why would I get coached?

Whatever your ability, being coached by someone who knows what they’re doing will transform your training. You’ll be supported and encouraged at all times, it will give you a sense of purpose, you’ll become stronger and healthier, and your knowledge will grow. Best of all, it’ll help you not only achieve your goals, but see you flourish while doing so. The only question you’ll be left with is why it took you so long before deciding to do it.
